What a help to have a simple outline like this to reference and help organize your story! I think one thing that could help is dividing this story into at least three parts: what is the “normal” for Obadiah and Ahab, first as kids and then as adults? What is the “new world” they’re placed into, and what are the new challenges they face? Is there a “midpoint” of the story that changes the direction? And after the battle scenes, how does Obadiah reconcile with his friendship with Ahab now that Ahab is dead?
